Mwea MP Mary Maingi Reaffirms Youth Empowerment as Cornerstone of Development Agenda


Mwea, Kenya — Mwea Member of Parliament, Hon. Mary Maingi, has reaffirmed her commitment to making youth empowerment a central pillar of her development agenda, stressing that young people are key drivers of transformation and sustainable growth.

Speaking during a consultative session with Mwea youth, Hon. Maingi described their energy, creativity, and potential as the backbone of society and critical to shaping the constituency’s future.

“From football to education, to digital skills and mentorship, I have always sought to create spaces where our young people can thrive. These engagements keep me grounded on their aspirations and ensure that our development agenda reflects their needs and dreams,” she said.

Since assuming office, Hon. Maingi has rolled out youth-focused programs spanning education support, sports development, digital literacy, and mentorship. The meeting provided an opportunity to assess progress while exploring new strategies to strengthen inclusion and opportunity.

She reiterated her resolve to champion policies that unlock the full potential of Mwea’s youth, adding that their active participation is vital to powering the constituency’s rise.

“Step by step, Mwea is rising… powered by the strength of our youth,” Hon. Maingi concluded.
