KEPHIS Board Chair Hon. Joseph M’Eruaki Recognized for Exemplary Leadership at Nairobi International Trade Fair

The Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) has once again cemented its reputation as a key player in safeguarding agriculture after receiving a prestigious trophy during the official opening of the Nairobi International Trade Fair (NITF) 2025 by H.E. President William Samoei Ruto.

The award was proudly received on behalf of the institution by the KEPHIS Board Chair, Hon. Joseph M’Eruaki, who was accompanied by members of the Board. The recognition not only celebrates KEPHIS’ contribution to strengthening agricultural standards and plant health in Kenya but also highlights the transformative leadership of Hon. M’Eruaki at the helm of the agency.

Since assuming office, Hon. M’Eruaki has provided strategic direction that has seen KEPHIS become more visible, efficient, and innovative in regulating and supporting Kenya’s agriculture. Under his stewardship, KEPHIS has deepened stakeholder engagement, enhanced compliance with international phytosanitary standards, and positioned the institution as a trusted partner in food security and trade facilitation.

Speaking after receiving the award, Hon. M’Eruaki lauded the collective effort of the KEPHIS team, emphasizing that the recognition belongs to all staff and partners who work tirelessly to uphold agricultural health.

“This award is a reflection of the dedication of the KEPHIS team and our unwavering commitment to excellence. We will continue to innovate, regulate, and support the agricultural sector for the prosperity of our farmers and the nation at large,” he said.

The accolade at the Nairobi International Trade Fair reaffirms KEPHIS’ critical role in ensuring safe trade, protecting Kenya’s agricultural resources, and promoting food safety. It also underscores the institution’s alignment with the government’s agenda of boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring access to global markets.

Under the capable leadership of Hon. Joseph M’Eruaki, KEPHIS continues to stand as a pillar of Kenya’s agricultural growth and sustainability.
