Meru, Kenya – Hon. Karambu Kailemia has emerged as the leading contender in the Meru County Woman Representative race, according to a Mizani Africa opinion poll released on 2nd October 2025.
The poll shows Kailemia commanding 35.5% support, placing her ahead of her rivals in a race analysts say is shaping up to be highly competitive. Her popularity is attributed to a strong grassroots presence and a consistent focus on gender equality, education empowerment, and community-driven development programs.
Her closest challenger, Florence Kajuju, polled at 27.6%, followed by Felicity Biriri with 22.1%. Edith Mwirigi registered 4.7%, while 1.2% of respondents favored other candidates. Notably, 8.9% of voters remain undecided, a bloc observers believe could significantly influence the final outcome.
Political analysts noted that Kailemia’s lead reflects rising confidence in her leadership style and her ability to connect with both urban and rural voters. Her campaign’s focus on inclusivity and empowerment appears to resonate strongly with the electorate.
“The numbers show a clear frontrunner, but the undecided group could still shift the race,” Mizani analysts observed, adding that momentum in the final stretch will be critical.
The findings underscore a fluid contest, but for now, Hon. Kailemia is widely seen as the candidate to beat in Meru County’s Woman Representative race.
