As Kenyans nationwide participated in the National Tree Planting exercise, Dagoretti South residents joined the campaign with a vibrant community event held at Kabiria Road Primary School and Kirigu Comprehensive School.
The activity was led by Winning Team International, under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ashford Macharia, who distributed fruit tree seedlings to participants to encourage sustainable environmental practices and community-driven conservation.
Mr. Macharia emphasized the organization’s dedication to complementing the government’s ambitious plan to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, noting that Winning Team International will continue mobilizing communities for similar initiatives nationwide.
“Environmental conservation starts with simple, consistent acts. Planting trees is one of the most powerful ways to restore balance and protect our planet for future generations,” said Mr. Macharia.
The event attracted local residents, school children, and environmental advocates, who actively took part in planting and nurturing fruit trees to enhance green spaces within their communities.
Participants praised the initiative for combining environmental conservation with food security, as the planted fruit trees are expected to provide both nutritional and ecological benefits in the years ahead.
The Dagoretti South tree planting exercise served as a reminder of the crucial role citizens play in driving Kenya’s green transformation and building a sustainable future for all.
