Senator Veronica Maina has reaffirmed her dedication to grassroots empowerment through a bold initiative supporting bodaboda riders in Murang’a County.
On Saturday, Senator Maina joined Hon. Mary Wamaua, Member of Parliament for Maragua Constituency, during a bodaboda empowerment program held at Kamahuha, aimed at professionalizing and strengthening the transport sector.
As part of the initiative, riders received driving licences and defensive driving certificates — a milestone designed to enhance road safety, promote discipline, and expand economic opportunities for youth working in the sector.
The event brought together key leaders including Hon. Kihungu (MP Kangema), Hon. Mugo (MP Mathioya), and Mr. Samuel Waweru, Chairman of KICC, all of whom commended the program’s impact on youth empowerment and community transformation.
“Empowering our bodaboda riders means investing in safer roads, stronger families, and a more prosperous Murang’a,” said Senator Veronica Maina. “Together, we can build a transport sector that supports livelihoods while upholding safety, dignity, and professionalism.”
Senator Maina emphasized her continued commitment to promoting initiatives that foster skills development, economic inclusion, and self-reliance among young people. She lauded the partnership with local leaders and stakeholders, noting that sustainable progress requires collaboration at every level.
