Government Launches Nationwide Validation Exercise for NYOTA Project Beneficiaries

The Government of Kenya has commenced a nationwide Physical Validation Exercise for the Business Support Component of the NYOTA Project, marking a major step in ensuring transparency and accountability in the rollout of the youth empowerment initiative.

The exercise, launched by the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSME Development, is taking place concurrently across all 290 constituencies in the country.

Speaking during the launch, Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga joined Cabinet Secretary Hon. FCPA Dr. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya in emphasizing the Government’s commitment to fair and inclusive implementation of the program.

“The validation exercise is a critical step in upholding integrity and accountability in this transformative youth program. It ensures that opportunities reach those they are truly intended for — the enterprising young people driving Kenya’s economic future,” said Ms. Chidzuga.

Each constituency has established validation centres with ward-based breakout stations to enhance accessibility and efficiency. Applicants are required to present their National Identification Cards, while Persons with Disabilities must show their disability identification cards for verification.

Funded by the World Bank, the NYOTA Project seeks to empower youth and MSMEs through financial support, business training, and enterprise development.

Ms. Chidzuga encouraged all applicants to participate in the exercise, adding that the initiative will “stimulate entrepreneurship, create employment, and advance inclusive economic growth across the nation.”
