Huawei Unveils WATCH FIT 4 and Band 10 in Kenya, Combining Fashion, Fitness, and Smart Health Technology

By Njeri Irungu

Nairobi, Kenya — June 21, 2025: Global tech giant Huawei has officially launched its latest wearable innovations — the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 and HUAWEI Band 10 — into the Kenyan market. The new devices blend premium fitness features with sleek aesthetics and intelligent health tracking, offering Kenyan users a compelling reason to live more actively and mindfully.

The launch, which follows the global debut of the two wearables in May, highlights Huawei’s strategic focus on Kenya’s rapidly growing digital wellness and tech ecosystem. Speaking at the launch event, Huawei Kenya Device Manager Jin Renbin emphasized the company’s vision of empowering local users with accessible, top-tier technology.

“Kenya is a rapidly growing hub for digital wellness, and we’re proud to bring global innovations like the WATCH FIT 4 and Band 10 to this market,” said Renbin. “These devices are slim, powerful, and smart — designed for both style-conscious individuals and serious fitness enthusiasts.”

At just 27 grams, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 redefines wearable style and function. With a vivid rectangular display housed in an ultra-slim body, the device is powered by a robust 400mAh battery that supports up to 10 days of usage on a single charge. Staying true to Huawei’s “Fashion Active” philosophy, the watch combines eye-catching design with high-performance health and fitness tracking.

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI Band 10 offers an even lighter form factor at just 15 grams and a remarkable battery life of up to 14 days. It is tailored for students, fitness newcomers, or anyone looking for a minimalist yet highly functional companion. A quick 5-minute charge can deliver up to two days of usage, making it a highly practical option for everyday users.

Both devices are equipped with advanced health monitoring features, including continuous heart rate tracking, SpO₂ measurements, sleep quality analysis, and 24/7 heart rate variability (HRV) tracking — enabling users to keep a close eye on both their physical and emotional wellbeing.

“We are integrating AI more deeply into health tracking,” noted Adam Lane, Huawei Kenya’s Policy and Partnerships Manager. “This not only gives users real-time insights but also supports a more proactive approach to wellness, including emotional and cardiovascular health.”

The WATCH FIT 4 also comes loaded with professional-grade fitness tools such as dual-band GNSS tracking, offline topographic maps, barometric altimeters, route tracking for watersports, and support for freediving up to 40 meters. In a bid to localize its offerings, Huawei has tailored workout modes for popular Kenyan activities like running, cycling, and walking, while also partnering with universities and health tech startups for regional data research.

“We’ve taken a localized approach to ensure relevance,” said Wilfred Odera, Huawei Kenya’s Marketing Manager. “We want our wearables to be daily wellness companions for every Kenyan.”

The wearables offer seamless integration with Android and iOS devices via the Huawei Health app, which now includes personalized coaching, real-time health feedback, and smart device controls.

Huawei has also introduced competitive pricing to make these wearables widely accessible. The WATCH FIT 4 is retailing at a discounted price of KES 19,999, down from KES 21,999, while the Band 10 ranges from KES 6,999 to KES 7,999 depending on the material — with aluminum alloy and plastic case options available. The devices are now on sale at leading Huawei partner stores such as Anisuma, Miniso, and Phone Place across the country.

In collaboration with local telcos and retailers, Huawei is also offering installment plans and promotional bundles to broaden reach. “Affordability doesn’t mean compromise,” Renbin added. “We’re combining premium features with local partnerships and flexible plans to ensure this technology reaches a wide demographic.”

Huawei continues to dominate the global wearables market, currently holding the top position with a 16.9% market share and an impressive 44.3% year-on-year growth, according to IDC. The launch in Kenya builds on the momentum of the award-winning WATCH FIT 3, which earned accolades like the 2024 Good Design Award.

Looking ahead, Huawei plans to expand its presence in Africa through the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) platform by working with local developers, health startups, and universities to create localized wellness solutions.

“We believe technology should be inclusive,” concluded Wilfred Odera. “We’re delivering flagship-level capabilities at prices that work for Kenyan professionals, athletes, students — and everyone in between.”
