Hon Eli Letipila and Speaker Wetang’ula Grace South Horr Catholic Church Fundraiser

Hon Eli Letipila, the Member of Parliament for Samburu North, on Sunday led elected leaders from Samburu County to South Horr where they joined the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon Moses Wetang’ula, for a deeply spiritual and impactful fundraiser at South Horr Catholic Church.The congregation gathered for a momentous Mavuno service, aimed at raising resources to support parish development. The event, marked by prayer, praise, and heartfelt fellowship, was attended by clergy, local leaders, and hundreds of congregants from Nyiro and surrounding areas.The highlight of the day was the successful mobilization of over KSh 4.8 million, which will go a long way in supporting the church’s projects, including infrastructure upgrades, youth mentorship programs, and outreach missions. The unity and generosity displayed underscored the enduring strength of faith-based community initiatives in Northern Kenya.Speaking at the event, Hon Eli Letipila described the day as a divine appointment for service, connection, and reflection. He emphasized the central role the church plays in shaping values and promoting unity. “We are here not just as leaders but as believers committed to the spiritual and socio-economic growth of our people,” he said.The MP reaffirmed his dedication to supporting both faith institutions and development programs in Samburu North. He expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception and lauded the church for being a pillar of hope and transformation in the region.Hon Moses Wetang’ula praised Hon Letipila’s leadership, calling him a grounded and visionary servant of the people. He pledged continued support for community-driven development through legislative empowerment and equitable resource distribution.Clergy members used the opportunity to encourage more partnerships between elected leaders and the church, calling for moral leadership and collective efforts to improve livelihoods. They blessed the leaders and prayed for peace and prosperity in Samburu and the nation at large.As the service concluded, Hon Letipila declared, “God bless Nyiro, God bless Samburu North,” reaffirming his commitment to serve the people with humility, dedication, and unwavering faith.
