Two Nairobi Residents Win KES 1 Million Each in Coca-Cola’s Funua Flava Promotion

A Nairobi businessman and an online freelancer have become the latest millionaires in Coca-Cola’s Funua Flava Pata Mita promotion, each walking away with a KES 1 million grand prize.

The two winners, Paul Onyango and Sharon Ndunge, were announced as the 8th and 9th weekly grand prize winners in the ongoing national campaign, which has so far rewarded nine millionaires with a combined KES 9 million in cash prizes.

They received their cheques from the Coca-Cola Beverages Kenya team led by Ampher Apidi, Experiential Marketing Manager, and Alfred Mabu, Revenue Growth and Trade Marketing Director.

Turning Bottle Caps into Big Wins

Sharon Ndunge, a virtual assistant based in Nairobi, said she began participating in the promotion immediately after its launch on August 15 at Kenyatta Market. Every time she bought her favourite 200ml Sprite, she would send the code under the crown to 40111 — a small routine that turned into a life-changing win.

“I will use the winnings to buy building materials for my mother’s house and start a small business to generate some income,” said an excited Ms. Ndunge after receiving her cheque.

For Mr. Onyango, the news came as both a surprise and a blessing.

“I heard about the promotion on radio and decided to participate. Honestly, I didn’t believe I could win — but here I am today,” he said.
“This money will help me clear my sons’ school fees, support my church, and celebrate with my family. I encourage others to keep drinking Coca-Cola — you never know when your turn will come.”

Celebrating Consumers Across Kenya

According to Ampher Apidi, Experiential Marketing Manager at Coca-Cola Beverages Kenya, the Funua Flava Pata Mita promotion has attracted enthusiastic participation from consumers across the country.

“Since we launched the campaign, we’ve crowned nine millionaires from counties including Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Meru, Kisumu, Migori, Mombasa, and Nairobi,” said Apidi. “This diversity shows how our consumers across Kenya are enjoying Coca-Cola’s range of flavours.”

He added that beyond the weekly millionaires, thousands of consumers have continued to win cash prizes of KES 100,000, KES 10,000, and daily data bundles.

“We truly appreciate our consumers and urge them to keep taking part — because with Coca-Cola, you never know what’s coming next.”

Previous Winners and Ongoing Rewards

Previous grand prize winners include Linet Moraa Mugire, a boutique saleslady from Eldoret; Miriam Wakio Kidungwa from Mombasa; Millicent Wanjiku Mwai, a mitumba trader from Nairobi’s South C; Lauryne Jemutai Birir, a honey trader from Baringo; Jacob Ochieng Liech, a boda boda rider from Kisumu; and Emmanuel Kerario Gikumi, a 21-year-old automotive engineering student from Migori.

Each of them has shared how a simple bottle of their favourite Coca-Cola beverage turned into a life-changing opportunity.

The promotion runs until later this month, with three more millionaires expected to be crowned before it concludes.

To participate, consumers simply need to buy a 300ml glass bottle of Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Stoney, Krest, or Schweppes, and send the unique code under the yellow crown cap via SMS to 40111.

Daily prizes include cash rewards of KES 100, KES 50,000, and KES 100,000, as well as instant data bundles, while the weekly jackpot offers a life-changing KES 1 million.
