Massive Youth Turnout in Meru for NYOTA Project Validation Exercise

Hundreds of young people in Meru County turned up in large numbers today for the NYOTA Project Physical Validation Exercise, signaling strong enthusiasm for the Business Support opportunities being rolled out under the national youth empowerment initiative.

The exercise, held in South Imenti Constituency, was led by Ms. Esther Mukiri from the Presidential Economic Transformation Secretariat and Mr. Henry Rithaa, Director General of the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA), in collaboration with local leaders and government officials.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Rithaa said the ongoing Validation Exercise is being conducted simultaneously across all 290 constituencies to ensure that the program benefits reach genuine and deserving youth.

“This process underscores the government’s commitment to empowering young people through entrepreneurship. We are determined to ensure that every opportunity under the NYOTA Project goes to those who meet the criteria,” said Mr. Rithaa.

The Physical Validation Exercise aims to authenticate applicants’ details — including residency, education level, employment status, gender, and disability — while confirming their availability to participate in the full project cycle.

Participants also undertook the Entrepreneurship Aptitude Test (EAT), a key requirement used to assess entrepreneurial potential and readiness for business support.

Mr. Rithaa further announced that the deadline for completing the EAT has been extended, giving all eligible youth additional time to participate and qualify for the next phase of the NYOTA Project.
