Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki Urges Youth to Harness Skills, Embrace SACCOs, and Leverage Social Media for Growth

– Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki, Hon. Director of Together As One and Comfort Homes, has challenged young people to sharpen their skills, cultivate financial discipline, and embrace innovation as key drivers of self-reliance and sustainable economic growth.

Speaking during a youth mentorship forum, Dr. Kariuki emphasized that Kenya’s youth must move beyond traditional mindsets and actively monetize their talents. He pointed out that opportunities exist in all sectors, but only those who adapt, learn, and innovate will fully benefit.

He further encouraged the youth to utilize social media platforms constructively, noting that while many spend endless hours scrolling for entertainment, the same tools can be powerful engines for learning, business networking, and income generation.

The future belongs to those who sharpen their skills, embrace innovation, and build financial discipline. Our youth must see opportunities where others see challenges,” Dr. Kariuki stated.

He also stressed the importance of financial empowerment through Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs), highlighting that they provide affordable credit, promote a culture of saving, and open doors for youth to invest in personal and community development projects.

Dr. Kariuki’s message was also tied to his broader vision under Comfort Homes, Kenya’s leading affordable real estate developer, which has won awards of excellence for more than seven consecutive years. His initiatives continue to support young people by promoting skill development, financial literacy, and sustainable empowerment.

With his mentorship and practical guidance, Dr. Kariuki reaffirmed his commitment to walking alongside the youth, urging them to become agents of change and active contributors to Kenya’s economic transformation.
