
In a move aimed to cushion unemployed young people seeking foreign jobs and opportunities, the government has reiterated seamless facilitation for participants to cater for flight tickets, agent fees, training fees among others.
The government will make use of Uwezo Fund and Youth Fund which are remain unutilized by Kenyans.
Speaking during the official opening of the Model Saudi House at National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Mombasa, Alfred Mutua, Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection said once young people secure their jobs and are on a payroll, there will be a well laid out flexible payment plan.

“We want to support as many young people as possible through this plan. The payment plan will ensure many cohorts of young people benefit from the government led initiative,” he said.
Mutua noted that the Model Saudi House is a collaborative effort between my ministry, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
The Model Saudi House will provide job recruits with a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with Arabian culture and home ambience, ensuring they adapt more easily to their new work environments. This initiative enhances their preparedness and marketability, giving them a competitive edge in the international job market.
The Cabinet Secretary emphasized the importance of having the right attitude and maintaining a disciplined lifestyle, including avoiding drugs, to successfully compete for jobs abroad.
“Additionally, I urged young Kenyans to take advantage of ongoing job interviews, as the government has already implemented measures to shorten the training period and introduced attractive financing options to support their travel abroad,” he averred.
Through such initiatives, we are not only expanding employment opportunities but also ensuring our workforce is well-equipped to thrive in foreign job markets.
The government through the President has been keen on securing foreign jobs to reduce the ballooning unemployment gap in tye country. So far Kenyans have secured jobs in German, Qatar, Dubai among others.
