Cape Town, South Africa — Kenya’s Diaspora Affairs Digital Initiative (Diaspora_KE) has been recognized with a continental award for Innovation in Digital Public Service Delivery at the 6th Africa Public Sector Conference & Awards (APSCA 2025) held in Cape Town.
The award, received by Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Roseline Njogu, celebrates the success of the Diaspora Integrated Information Management System (DIIMS) — a groundbreaking web platform integrated into eCitizen that allows Kenyans living abroad to access government services seamlessly and securely.
In her acceptance remarks, PS Njogu hailed the Government of Kenya under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto for championing digital transformation and inclusive service delivery.
“This innovation reflects Kenya’s commitment to a connected government — one that serves all citizens, wherever they are in the world,” said PS Njogu. “It is a defining step toward efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered governance.”
The Diaspora_KE platform has streamlined engagement between the government and the Kenyan diaspora, enhancing service accessibility, policy coordination, and data-driven decision-making.
This recognition cements Kenya’s position as a regional leader in digital governance, showcasing the country’s ability to leverage technology for global citizen inclusion and improved public service delivery.
