LG Introduces High-Efficiency ARTCOOL Air Conditioner to Kenyan Market

By Njeri Irungu, Nairobi- Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya, September 29, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) East Africa has today unveiled its premium LG ARTCOOL Air Conditioner in Kenya, a move that underscores the company’s growing focus on high-performance, design-led home appliances.

The launch comes at a time when Kenya’s residential air conditioning market is projected to expand rapidly, with growth rates of 12.56% in 2025 and 13.17% in 2026. Analysts attribute this momentum to rising urbanisation, a growing middle class, and the increasing demand for energy-efficient solutions. Across sub-Saharan Africa, the HVAC sector is forecast to exceed USD 5.23 billion in value by 2030.

Speaking at the Nairobi launch event, LG East Africa President, Donghun Lee, described the ARTCOOL as a statement product that balances cutting-edge innovation with sleek design.

“This product represents a new era of air conditioning by bringing together the best in technology and aesthetic design in one refined unit. It is built for consumers who value both performance and form,” said Lee.

The ARTCOOL is powered by LG’s proprietary Inverter Compressor, which delivers up to 70% energy savings and 40% faster cooling while maintaining ultra-low noise levels. To reinforce customer trust, LG is offering a 10-year compressor warranty, meeting the growing demand for durable, low-maintenance home solutions.

With its minimalist aesthetic, premium finish, and Wi-Fi-enabled smart controls, the ARTCOOL is designed to appeal to Kenya’s increasingly design-conscious and tech-savvy consumers.

Tony Yun, LG East Africa’s Air Solutions Product Director, highlighted the unit’s integration with LG ThinQ smart technology, which allows users to control the air conditioner remotely via smartphone.

“From turning the unit on or off, adjusting settings, to monitoring energy usage, customers can manage their home comfort even when away,” Yun explained.

The LG ARTCOOL Air Conditioner is now available for purchase on the LG website and at Opalnet retail outlets across Kenya.
