NGAAF Outreach Empowers Gitamaiyu Residents with Tools, Education Support

The National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) has continued its mission to uplift communities by rolling out an empowerment program in Gitamaiyu, Riabai Ward, Kiambu County.

The outreach, held in partnership with local leaders, aimed at promoting socio-economic growth, enhancing education, and supporting vulnerable groups. Beneficiaries received a range of essential items including blow dryers and hair dryers for salonists, shaving machines for barbers, and umbrellas for motorbike operators to help improve their livelihoods.

In addition, girls from Kiu River Primary and Secondary Schools were supplied with sanitary towels to ensure they do not miss classes during their menstrual cycle. The elderly were not left behind, with many receiving warm blankets, while food supplies were distributed to all present as a gesture of solidarity.

Speaking during the event, leaders emphasized that the program was not just about handouts but about creating sustainable opportunities. “Every tool given, every student supported, and every meal shared is a seed sown for a brighter Kiambu. Empowerment restores dignity and builds stronger communities,” said one of the coordinators.

Area MCA Hon. Hezron of Riabai Ward and Ting’ang’a Ward MCA Hon. Napoleon joined the event, pledging continued support for initiatives that bring meaningful change to residents.

The NGAAF program has been instrumental in equipping small-scale entrepreneurs, supporting education, and uplifting vulnerable groups, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth and leaving no one behind.
