Korogocho MCA Defends ODM’s Support for President Ruto’s Administration

Korogocho Ward MCA Absalom Odhiambo Matach has reaffirmed ODM’s support for President William Ruto’s administration, cautioning party members against opposing the stance taken by party leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking during a local event, MCA Matach criticized ODM leaders, including Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, who have questioned the party’s alignment with the Kenya Kwanza government.

“We will only follow the directives of our chairman, George Aladwa, and that is final,” said MCA Matach. He emphasized the need for unity within ODM, urging members to respect the leadership’s decisions.

The MCA also defended ODM’s collaboration with the Kenya Kwanza administration, describing it as part of a broader political strategy. He warned dissenting party members that the evolving political landscape could marginalize them, especially if Raila Odinga secures the African Union Commission chairman position.

ODM’s working relationship with President Ruto’s government has sparked debate within the party, with some leaders expressing dissatisfaction over what they see as a shift from the party’s opposition role. However, MCA Matach insists that the collaboration is in line with the party’s long-term goals.

As political realignments continue to shape Kenya’s landscape, MCA Matach’s remarks highlight the internal challenges ODM faces in balancing unity and its evolving political strategy.
