PS Susan Mang’eni Engages MSMEs at Nairobi International Trade Fair 2025

The Principal Secretary for the State Department for MSMEs, Hon. Susan Mang’eni, today visited the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) stand at the ongoing Nairobi International Trade Fair 2025, reaffirming government’s commitment to empowering small businesses.

She was accompanied by MSEA CEO Henry Rithaa and Board Director Billy Baltazar, and interacted with entrepreneurs drawn from sectors including leather, edible oils, jiko manufacturing, honey, and coffee.

Among the exhibitors, one had applied for the NYOTA program, which provides funding support for innovative MSMEs. The PS commended the initiative and encouraged more entrepreneurs to explore Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE) financing to scale up operations. Another exhibitor pursuing the KJET program expressed optimism about the opportunity, with the PS urging her to maximize its benefits if successful.

Hon. Mang’eni also called on MSMEs to take advantage of ongoing MSEA programs and actively participate in the East African Community (EAC) MSMEs Trade Fair, which Kenya will host from 7th to 16th November 2025.

“Our goal is to empower small enterprises to grow, scale up, and fully benefit from government incentives and regional market opportunities,” she said.

The visit highlighted the role of MSMEs in driving economic growth and job creation, while underscoring government’s pledge to strengthen access to finance, markets, and capacity-building initiatives.
